Fortification Assessment

Partnered Collections, Special Issues

The Fortification Assessment Coverage Toolkit (FACT) is a modular survey methodology developed by the Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition to assess population-based (i.e., staple foods and/or condiments) and targeted (e.g., infant and young child) fortification programs. The aim of the toolkit is to facilitate the generation of data for decision-making, with the goal of supporting greater program impact. FACT surveys quantify potential for and real program coverage and fortified food utilization, and the distribution of these across multiple population groups (e.g., by region, economic status, age and sex), and identify barriers and opportunities to improve coverage and utilization of fortified foods. This collection highlights results from FACT surveys and other assessments that generate similar data for program decision-making and improvement.
