PLOS is a non-profit organization on a mission to drive open science forward with measurable, meaningful change in research publishing, policy, and practice.

Building on a strong legacy of pioneering innovation, PLOS continues to be a catalyst, reimagining models to meet open science principles, removing barriers and promoting inclusion in knowledge creation and sharing, and publishing research outputs that enable everyone to learn from, reuse and build upon scientific knowledge.

We believe in a better future where science is open to all, for all.

Modeling Cell Proliferation and the Cell Microenvironment

Calls for Papers Collections

Cells use elaborate mechanisms to sense a variety of mechanical and biochemical cues in their environment, to integrate this information, and to generate coherent adaptive responses. A more complete understanding of these interactions will provide new opportunities for tissue and biomaterials engineering, as well as immunology and cancer research.

This collection compiles a range of research that improves the field by building on existing methods and algorithms to better model phenomena such as fibrotic remodeling, cancer metastasis, wound healing and development and much more.
