Confronting Climate Change in the Age of Denial

Curated Collections

Most scientists believe that climate change is one of the greatest challenges of our time -- if not the greatest challenge. Yet too often, efforts to communicate science-based information about the urgency of reducing carbon emissions struggle to compete with climate-change denial narratives that support people’s pre-existing ideas. This PLOS Biology collection, “Confronting Climate Change in the Age of Denial,” will feature psychologists who explore the challenges and pitfalls of using stories to communicate scientific evidence around climate change and biologists who set the record straight on the threats facing iconic Arctic mammals.
