Marine Fisheries

Curated Collections

Marine fisheries are crucial for humanity, as wild caught and farmed seafood provide food for 3 billion people and employ more than 200 million people worldwide, most of them in developing countries. Despite its importance for humanity, global fisheries are under stress due to habitat loss, global warming, marine pollution, and unsustainable fishing practices.

In this collection, we present a selection of recently published research on strategies to ensure the health of marine ecosystems, the long term sustainability of marine fisheries and the livelihood of fishing communities, as well as new methods in fisheries monitoring and fish farming, among many more.
