Radionuclides (the radioactive form of elements) have an extensive array of uses in scientific research – in archeology they can provide valuable timelines of past histories, while in nuclear medicine they can be harnessed to combat cancerous cells. They also have applications in ecology, oceanography, chemistry, and numerous other fields, making them an invaluable research tool.

Here, we present a curated collection of recent studies featuring the use of radioisotopes. The collection highlights the wide variety of ways that these elements can be used by researchers and showcases innovations in a number of fields.
