PLOS Biology is launching a Call for Preregistered Research, titled Preregistered Research in Zoonotic Pathogen Emergence. Our editors are looking for preregistered research protocols that relate to the emergence and outbreaks of all types of zoonotic pathogens with a view to addressing the current COVID-19 pandemic, while at the same time helping to mitigate future risk. We want to ensure that SARS-CoV-2 and COVID-19 research is reaching our communities as soon as possible and we will strive to complete the initial stage 1 peer review within 7 days of receiving the submission.
To help make this Call for Preregistered Research accessible, we are waiving the publication cost for all accepted stage 1 Prepregistered Research Articles submitted by June 30, 2020.
